ARTICLE 21FlexiplaceSECTION 1. Management may grant an employee's request to work at an alternative site, taking into consideration benefits to the employee and fulfillment of the office's needs. Examples of the benefits of working at alternative sites are listed in NOAA's Flexiplace Pilot Program (November 3, 1995). Offsite work must comply with the provisions of Articles 20 (Work Schedules) and 22 (Overtime and Compensatory Time). SECTION 2. Details of flexiplace arrangements including work agreements, work schedules, and facilities and equipment issues will be determined in accordance with the Department of Commerce Guidelines for Flexiplace Participation (Flexiplace Pilot Program, April, 1994) and the NOAA Supplemental Guidelines (NOAA Flexiplace Program Guide, November 3, 1995). An employee working at an alternative work site shall have executed the "Flexible Program Employee/Supervision Agreement." Requests for particular arrangements must be approved in writing (e-mails are acceptable) by the employee's supervisor, or by the supervisor's designee should the supervisor be unavailable, and the written approval must be attached to the employee's time sheet. |
